Finding the right mental health professional begins with an initial assessment, where we evaluate your unique mental health requirements. We consider factors such as your current state, concerns, and goals. Based on this assessment, we recommend whether a psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, or a combination of both would be most beneficial for you. Subsequently, we tailor your treatment plan, including online or in-person therapy, rehabilitation, or hospitalization.

At Sukoon, we prioritise the privacy and confidentiality of your medical information. Your records are accessible only to your designated caregivers- your psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, mental health counsellors and nurses. We are committed to never sharing your medical records without your explicit consent. Our mental health hospital management system adheres to HIPAA certification and employs secure data encryption, protecting your sensitive information.

Sessions are typically between 45 and 50 minutes, but the duration may change depending on the treatment’s approach. Therapy can be availed at our mental hospital, de addiction centre,outpatient facility, or online.

Psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists play distinct roles in the field of mental health:

• Psychiatrist:  A medical doctor specialising in mental health, capable of diagnosing mental health conditions, prescribing medication, and providing medical treatments. They often work with individuals dealing with complex or severe mental health issues.

• Psychologist:  Holds an advanced degree in psychology and provides counselling and therapy, focusing on behavioural and emotional aspects of mental health. Psychiatrists and psychologists’ difference is mainly that psychologists cannot prescribe medication but offer various therapeutic approaches to address mental health challenges.

• Therapist:  A broad term referring to mental health professionals who offer counselling and therapy services. This can include clinical psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and counsellors. Mental health therapists help individuals address emotional and psychological issues through talk therapy, providing support and coping strategies.
